Two German groups meet on alternate Friday mornings in Brading: a beginners/improvers group and an intermediate/advanced group.

The beginners/improvers group has has a couple of vacancies now, so if you'd like to refresh vague memories of schooldays' German, now is the moment to join!

The format of both sessions aims to focus on the key skills of speaking, written, and listening comprehension. We spend about half an hour chatting / discussing a particular topic, half an hour practising aural comprehension, i.e. listening to an audio / video recording and answering questions on it, half an hour exploring a nugget of grammar (some people really like this!), and half an hour reading a text, practising pronunciation, and picking the bones and the vocabulary out of it. It is very informal, and we aim to have fun, make new friends and learn a thing or two at the same time.
